The makers of Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 have clarified that the film will release theatrically in Hindi on October 15, dismissing reports suggesting that the Hindi version would not be released.
On Monday, the film’s publicist issued a statement on behalf of the makers, confirming that the Hindi version would arrive in theatres alongside the other language versions as originally planned.
“In light of recent media reports suggesting that ‘Jailer 2’ will not be releasing in Hindi, we would like to officially clarify that the film’s Hindi version is scheduled for a theatrical release on Thursday, October 15, 2026, alongside its other language versions, as originally planned,” the statement said.
The makers also confirmed that Pen Marudhar Entertainment would handle distribution in North India and stressed that there had been no change to the Hindi theatrical release schedule.
“We request all media publications and platforms to take note of this clarification and refrain from circulating any unverified information regarding the film’s release. We appreciate the media’s continued support and cooperation,” the statement added.
Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, with Rajinikanth returning as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The story follows the character as he becomes embroiled in another dangerous confrontation involving criminal networks and threats to his family.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Anirudh Ravichander returns as the music composer.
The trailer promises large-scale action, dark humour and dramatic confrontations. Rajinikanth has said he agreed to the sequel because the original film left room for the story to continue.
Produced by Sun Pictures and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 15, 2026.
