Teachers and students from School of Agricultural Biotechnology, Punjab Agricultural University attended the 2nd National Genetics Congress 2024, held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi during 11-13 December 2024.
Dr. Satinder Kaur awarded with Best Oral Presentation Award on topic “Wild Relatives: A key to climate-smart wheat improvement”, and Ph.D. student Anroop Kaur working under the guidance of Dr. Navraj Kaur Sarao awarded with Best Rapid Oral Presentation Award on the topic “Unveiling the Genetic Architecture of Fusarium Wilt Resistance in Melon Using SNP-Based Linkage Mapping”,at the National Genetics Congress 2024.
Moreover Anroop Kaur attended the National Symposium on Integrating Traditional and Modern Plant Breeding Techniques for food security: Trends & Challenges from December 20-22, 2024 and got Best Oral Presentation Award on the paper entitled, “Genetic insights in to fusarium wilt resistance in melon through GBS based QTL mapping”.
These orals, which presented cutting-edge findings in plant genetics, impressed both peers and experts alike for its scientific depth and clarity. This award not only reflects their academic excellence but also serves as a testament to the high-quality research being conducted at Punjab Agricultural University.
These achievements bring pride to the university and underscore its commitment to fostering outstanding researchers in the field of plant sciences.
