National Award-winning actress Nithya Menen is set to headline an upcoming fantasy dark comedy to be written and directed by filmmaker DK, the makers announced on Monday.
The film, currently referred to as Production No. 5, is being jointly produced by Leo Vision Productions and Nithya Menen’s Keyuri Productions Pvt. Ltd. Leo Vision is headed by producer V.S. Rajkumar, while Menen is backing the project through her production banner.
Announcing the project on social media, Leo Vision described the film as a combination of fantasy, madness and darkness, promising a distinctive cinematic experience.
Menen had launched Keyuri Productions in February this year, marking her entry into film production. At the time, she said filmmaking had always been about connecting with audiences at a deeper emotional level and that she wanted to carry the same creative intent into her work as a producer.
Acclaimed filmmaker Vikram K. Kumar has been brought on board as the Creative Producer. A. Sakthivel is handling cinematography, while Richard Kevin is the editor.
The upcoming project marks a collaboration between Leo Vision, Keyuri Productions, Menen, DK and Kumar. The makers have indicated that the film will offer audiences a theatrical experience rooted in its fantasy and dark-comedy elements.
The film is planned as a pan-Indian theatrical release and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Menen, who has established herself across multiple Indian film industries, will lead the cast in what is being positioned as a genre-driven project combining fantasy with dark humour.
