New Delhi, November 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 10 and Class 12 Board examinations for the 2026-27 academic year will begin on February 16, 2027. All examinations will commence at 10.30 am, the Board said on Friday while releasing the date sheets.
More than 19.8 lakh students of Class 12 and over 26.5 lakh students of Class 10 have registered for the 2027 examinations.
The CBSE said the date sheets were finalised after schools completed the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC), providing the Board with final details of students’ subject combinations. Students will appear in 83 subjects in Class 10 and 121 subjects in Class 12. The schedules have been released 101 days ahead of the examinations.
While preparing the date sheets, the Board considered more than 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that examinations for two subjects opted by the same student do not fall on the same day. Adequate gaps have also been provided between examinations of subjects commonly taken together.
The tentative schedules of major entrance examinations for Class 12 students were taken into account, with efforts made to complete the Board examinations well before those tests begin.
The CBSE said the number of candidates appearing at each examination centre on a particular day was also considered to ensure smooth conduct. The schedule has additionally been designed to minimise teachers’ prolonged absence from schools during the evaluation process.
