Lakshya Raichandani will captain India in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, scheduled to take place in Muscat, Oman, from November 5 to 14. The BCCI’s Junior Cricket Committee, led by newly appointed Parvinder Awana, announced the 15-member squad on Friday, with Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan named vice-captain.

The squad features Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, and wicketkeeper Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid. Rajat Baghel has been selected as the second wicketkeeper.

Anvay enters the tournament after scoring 358 runs in five innings for Karnataka in the recently concluded Vinoo Mankad Trophy. His tally included a half-century and two centuries. Aaryavir, meanwhile, impressed with a stroke-filled 173 off 143 balls for Delhi against Chandigarh in the same competition. Ishan Sood also heads into the tournament in good form after taking 13 wickets in eight matches at an average of 23.

India have been placed in Group A alongside defending champions Pakistan, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Group B comprises Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on November 12, while the final is scheduled for Saturday, November 14.

India will begin their campaign against Nepal at OCC Turf 1 on November 6. They will face Pakistan at the same venue on November 8 before concluding their group-stage fixtures against the UAE at OCC Turf 2 on November 10.
