Actress Shilpa Shirodkar has reunited with veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty after two decades, describing him as the “kindest soul” she has ever known.
Sharing a picture with Mithun on Instagram, Shilpa said that nothing had changed despite the long gap. She credited his faith in her early in her career for helping shape the person she is today.
Calling him her “absolute favourite”, Shilpa wrote: “2 decades later and absolutely nothing has changed! ❤️ Met Mithun da today and we had the most amazing time catching up on the good old days. I honestly wouldn’t be the person I am today without his belief in me back then. (sic).”
She added: “Thank you so much, Dada, for always trusting me and showering me with so much love. You are the kindest soul I’ve ever known, and you are still exactly the same. You will always, always be my absolute favourite Dada forever! Love you so much my dada!”
Shilpa and Mithun were a popular on-screen pair in the 1990s. Shilpa made her Bollywood debut alongside Mithun in the 1989 film Bhrashtachar, which also featured Rekha, Anupam Kher and Raza Murad in key roles, with Rajinikanth making a special appearance.
The two later worked together in films including Yodha (1991), Trinetra (1991), Rangbaaz (1996) and Hitler (1998).

Inspired by the life and teachings of saint and philosopher Adi Shankaracharya, the series also features Abhishek Nigam, Rati Pandey, Rajesh Shringarpure, Farnaz Shetty and Manoj Joshi.
