Singer Chinmayi Sripaada has revealed that she learnt the song ‘Judi Jodi’ from Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ just an hour before performing it live at the film’s audio launch event in Chennai.

Her live rendition drew comparisons with Shreya Ghoshal’s studio-recorded Hindi version of the track. Responding to the discussion, Chinmayi shared a post on social media explaining how little time she had to prepare for the performance.

“I did learn this with probably an hour or so to give before going on stage and I am glad I had the opportunity. It is nice to be challenged instead of getting into comfort zones of having hours to know a song enough to play with the words, the tune,” she wrote.

The singer also reflected on her self-criticism and said she remained highly critical of her own singing. She described herself as perhaps her own harshest critic and suggested that the voice in her head might have been influenced by her mother’s rarely expressed praise, which she felt was intended to keep her grounded.

Chinmayi further spoke about experiencing imposter syndrome, saying she believed it might never change. Despite completing 25 years as a professional singer, she said she was no more confident than when she began her career.

She also explained that improvisation requires time to develop a connection with a song and that she might approach the track differently if given another opportunity. However, she emphasised that her love for singing remained what mattered most.
