Punjab Police Reshuffle: 7 Senior IPS Officers Get New Postings; Gautam Cheema Appointed ADGP Law and Order – FULL LIST

The Punjab Government on Saturday ordered the postings and transfers of seven senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect, assigning responsibilities in the Railways, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Counter Intelligence, Law and Order and other key wings of Punjab Police.

According to an order issued by the Department of Home Affairs (Home-I Branch), the reshuffle includes six officers posted as Special Directors General of Police (Special DGPs) and one officer posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).

The orders were issued on administrative grounds with the approval of the competent authority.

Gautam Cheema Appointed ADGP Law and Order

Among the important postings, Gautam Cheema, IPS (1995 batch), has been appointed Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Punjab.

Cheema was available for posting on promotion.

Jitendra Kumar Jain Gets Railways, Anita Punj Assigned Human Rights

Dr. Jitendra Kumar Jain, IPS (1993 batch), presently serving as Special DGP, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Patiala, has been posted as Special DGP, Railways, Punjab.

He will also continue to hold the additional charge of Special DGP, PSPCL, Patiala.

Anita Punj, IPS (1994 batch), presently serving as Special DGP, Human Resource Development and Welfare, Punjab, Chandigarh, will continue in the same position and has additionally been assigned the charge of Special DGP, Human Rights, Punjab.

AGTF, Counter Intelligence and Other Key Postings

Promod Ban, IPS (1995 batch), who was available for posting on promotion, has been appointed Special DGP, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab.

M.F. Farooqui, IPS (1995 batch), has been posted as Special DGP, State Armed Police (SAP), Jalandhar Cantonment.

Amit Prasad, IPS (1995 batch), has been appointed Special DGP, Counter Intelligence, Punjab.

G. Nageswara Rao, IPS (1995 batch), has been posted as Special DGP, Provisioning, Punjab, and will additionally hold the charge of Special DGP, Modernization, Punjab.

All four officers were available for posting on promotion.
