Jaipur, October 30, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Rajasthan government has authorised the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to conduct a detailed investigation into allegations that senior IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal misused his official position to extend undue benefits to a private resort company, allegedly causing financial losses to the state.

The approval has been granted under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, according to an ACB press note. The probe will also examine the purchase of resort properties in the names of Agrawal and his family members.

ACB Director General Govind Gupta said the Bureau had examined the matter, including a factual report received from the Industries Department. Information from confidential sources and preliminary findings had indicated the need for a formal investigation.

The allegations relate to Agrawal’s dealings with directors of Goyal Fashions Private Limited, which operates hotels and resorts under the Ananta brand. According to the ACB’s preliminary findings, the company allegedly received relaxations in construction conditions, approvals without verification of mandatory certificates and special concessional financial packages during Agrawal’s tenure in key government positions.

The Bureau is examining villa purchases at Ananta resorts in Bujhda in Udaipur and Ajabgarh in Alwar district. It alleges that 10 villas were bought in the names of Agrawal and his wife at Bujhda for ₹15 lakh each. At Ajabgarh, eight villas were allegedly purchased in their names for ₹16.5 lakh apiece.

Four more villas were reportedly acquired in the names of his two sons for around ₹15 lakh each, while another four were purchased in the names of his parents-in-law for approximately ₹16.5 lakh each. The ACB suspects the properties were bought below market value.

The Bureau has also flagged the timing of the transactions. It said registration of 20 villas in Agrawal’s name took place on March 27, 2026, the same day the Finance Department reportedly issued a special concessional package to Goyal Fashions.

The investigation will examine the roles of Agrawal, the company’s directors and other individuals, including allegations of assets disproportionate to the officer’s known sources of income.

The allegations remain under investigation, and no finding of guilt has been established.
