Rajasthan Police have recovered an Israeli tourist’s missing passport, ₹20,000 in cash, credit cards and other valuables within two days of the belongings going missing while she was travelling from Pushkar to Ranthambore.
The belongings were returned to the tourist, identified as Moshaiof Noam, on Thursday following a coordinated investigation by Malpura Police and the District Special Team (DST) in Tonk district.
Noam was travelling with friends on a motorcycle on October 19 for a wildlife safari in Ranthambore when she discovered that the belt pouch she was wearing around her waist had gone missing. After searching along the route without success, she approached Malpura Police Station and lodged a complaint.
Police registered the complaint and formed a special team under Malpura Station House Officer Chainaram Beda, under the supervision of Tonk Superintendent of Police Roshan Meena.
Investigators examined CCTV footage from locations along the suspected route and gathered information through local sources. The inquiry led them to Mumana village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Peeplu Police Station in Tonk district.
Police questioned seven individuals who had travelled between Malpura and Mumana on the day the pouch went missing. The investigation subsequently led to the recovery of the entire pouch and its contents.
The recovered belongings included Noam’s passport, driving licence, four credit cards, electronic gadgets, ₹20,000 in cash and other important documents.
After receiving her belongings, the Israeli tourist expressed gratitude to Rajasthan Police for its prompt response and assistance. She also released a video thanking the police for their efforts.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Narayan Lal Sharma and Head Constable Ramraj of DST Malpura played key roles in the recovery operation.
The incident highlights the importance of timely police assistance for foreign visitors travelling across Rajasthan, particularly when the loss of essential documents such as passports could disrupt their travel plans.
