New Delhi, September 18, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are witnessing stronger initial demand in India than their predecessors, with early sales indicating a 15-28 per cent year-on-year increase despite higher prices, according to analysts and retailers.

“While it’s too early to share definitive sales figures, initial demand for the 18 Pro is outperforming the 17 Pro YoY,” said Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, after the firm reviewed data from 12 stores.

Pathak said the Burgundy colour variant was seeing strong interest, along with higher-storage configurations. He added that early consumer feedback had been positive, although sales would need to be tracked over a longer period after the initial launch excitement settles.

According to Pathak, Apple’s authorised resellers are accounting for a significant share of sales volumes and are catering to customers across different locations. Apple Stores, meanwhile, have witnessed substantial launch-day demand from enthusiasts, supported by strong pre-orders.

Retailers said most of the stock supplied to stores for launch day had been sold, with fresh allocations being made to meet demand.

Industry experts attributed part of the concentrated demand to Apple’s decision not to launch a standard iPhone 18 model this year, leaving the two Pro variants as the key new iPhone offerings.

Apple started selling the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in India on Friday through its online store and six retail outlets across the country. The devices are also available through authorised resellers, online marketplaces and large-format retail stores.

The iPhone 18 Pro is priced from Rs 1,64,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,74,900 for the 256GB variants.

Apple is offering instant cashback of up to Rs 7,000 on eligible card EMI transactions and Rs 6,000 on eligible card full-swipe purchases for both models.

Customers exchanging existing smartphones can also receive a trade-in top-up of up to Rs 10,000, depending on the residual value of the device.

Meanwhile, Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, is expected to launch in India on October 23.
