Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited the Delhi residence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal and offered prayers to Lord Ganesha on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The Prime Minister performed the traditional puja and sought Lord Ganesha’s blessings for the well-being and prosperity of the people.
Sharing photographs from the visit on X, Modi wrote, “Went for Ganpati Darshan at the residence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal Ji. May Bhagwan Shri Ganesh bless everyone!”
The photographs showed the Prime Minister participating in the rituals before the idol of Lord Ganesha.
Earlier in the day, Modi extended Ganesh Chaturthi greetings to citizens, praying that the festival would bring renewed energy and enthusiasm into people’s lives and that the country would continue to progress.
He also shared a devotional verse dedicated to Lord Ganesha, concluding with the traditional chant, “Ganpati Bappa Morya!”
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also visited Goyal’s residence on Monday and paid obeisance before Lord Ganesha. Earlier, he had offered prayers at Maharashtra Sadan in the national capital.
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi, commemorates the birth of Lord Ganesha, revered as the remover of obstacles and the deity associated with wisdom and new beginnings.
The 10-day festival is being celebrated across the country with devotees installing Ganesha idols in homes and public pandals, performing puja and aarti, and preparing traditional offerings such as modaks. The festivities traditionally culminate in idol immersion on Anant Chaturdashi.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also offered prayers at the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in Mumbai, while political leaders and people across the country participated in celebrations and sought blessings for happiness, prosperity and success.
