A spectacular 500-drone show organised by the Punjab Government at Anaj Mandi in Patiala Rural on Thursday showcased the life, Bani, teachings and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, drawing an enthusiastic response from devotees.
The event was part of the year-long celebrations being organised across Punjab to mark the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh, AAP SC Wing State President Gurpreet Singh GP, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal and a large number of devotees from Patiala Rural attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Balbir Singh said the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, was committed to following the path shown by Guru Ravidas Ji and working for the welfare of all sections of society.
He said modern digital technology was being used to connect the younger generation with the universal message of Guru Ravidas Ji. The drone show presented the Guru’s life, Bani and teachings in a visually vibrant display against the night sky.
Dr Balbir Singh said Guru Ravidas Ji’s teachings embody the values of equality, brotherhood, hard work, righteous conduct and social harmony. He emphasised that the Guru’s philosophy transcended the boundaries of any particular community and carried a universal message of equality, freedom and fraternity for all humanity.
The Minister said the Punjab Government had allocated more than Rs 100 crore for year-long programmes dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purb of Guru Ravidas Ji. The initiatives are aimed at taking the Guru’s teachings and message of human welfare to the younger generation through modern and effective means.
The Sangat appreciated the initiative and thanked the Punjab Government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for organising the drone show to commemorate the historic occasion.
