Three-time reality show winner and current ‘Bigg Boss 20’ contestant Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, says he does not want to remain confined to the identity of a reality television contestant and is looking to build an independent career.
Gullu, who entered the ‘Bigg Boss 20’ house on September 6, said reality shows no longer feel like a challenge to him. Recalling his journey from ‘Roadies’ and ‘Splitsvilla’ to ‘Maa Hai Na’ and now ‘Bigg Boss’, he said he treats reality television more like a temporary break where he can be himself.
“TV reality show mujhe ab toh kuch lagta nahi hai. I used to feel like that in the beginning, when I used to go to new shows. But now, I feel like I just come home on vacation and just chill for three months. I show what my life is like outside. No filter, no lies, no fake. I just want to stay here,” Gullu told IANS.
He said he is interested in acting but wants to wait until he feels adequately prepared rather than rushing into an opportunity.
“I just have to be patient. I’m waiting for something good. When I feel like I’m ready, then I’ll think about acting,” he said.
Gullu also rejected the idea that he is dependent on reality television for fame, saying he intends to establish his own identity and create a brand around himself.
“I’ll make my own brand. Gullu is a brand,” he said.
He added that although he plans his goals, he does not want ‘Bigg Boss’ to become a recurring part of his career.
“I don’t want to go to reality shows all the time. Because I have to move forward. I don’t want a tag. I’ll make my own title,” he said.
Gullu said he wants to build a name beyond his reality-show victories and eventually make his own identity his defining achievement.
