Gautam Ghattamaneni, son of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, has given Nani’s film The Paradise a one-star rating on Letterboxd, criticising its editing and saying he found little else to appreciate beyond the cinematography and performances in emotional scenes.
Sharing his review on the film-rating platform, Gautam wrote that he liked the cinematography and acting in emotional sequences but described the overall experience as “very disappointing”. He also called the editing “just atrocious”.
Gautam’s Letterboxd activity has attracted attention before. He previously made headlines for awarding Yash-starrer Toxic just half a star and giving some of his father Mahesh Babu’s films ratings of only two stars.
After his account drew widespread attention, Gautam initially removed its link from his Instagram bio before restoring it. He also responded to the attention with a tongue-in-cheek message on Letterboxd: “Welcome to this apparently national news worthy page. I will try to live up to that,” accompanied by emojis.
The Paradise, a Telugu action drama directed by Srikanth Odela, is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Ishan Saksena under the banners of Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas and IVY Entertainment. Its cast includes Nani, Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Juyal.
Set in 1980s Secunderabad, the film follows a marginalised community battling discrimination and fighting for citizenship while challenging systemic oppression.
The film was released on September 24, 2026. Despite a strong opening, it reportedly struggled to sustain its box-office performance.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is working on SS Rajamouli’s upcoming action-adventure film Varanasi, which also features Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
