Punjab Transfers – Six IAS Officers Transferred

Chandigarh, June 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Punjab Government on Saturday ordered the transfer and posting of six IAS officers with immediate effect as part of an administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving departmental coordination.

The orders were issued by the Department of Personnel (IAS Branch) with the approval of the Governor of Punjab.

Among the significant changes, Manvesh Singh Sidhu has been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director, Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB), while Girish Dayalan has been posted as Special Secretary, Jails. Sanyam Aggarwal has been entrusted with key responsibilities in the Cooperative sector, including the posts of Registrar, Cooperative Societies and Managing Director of the Punjab State Cooperative Bank.

Manvesh Singh Sidhu Gets Additional Charge of PIDB

Shri Manvesh Singh Sidhu, IAS (2004), who was serving as:

  • Administrative Secretary, Labour
  • Additional Secretary, Revenue & Rehabilitation
  • Commissioner, Rupnagar Division

will continue in his present assignments and has been given the additional charge of Managing Director, Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB), relieving Girish Dayalan, IAS, of the responsibility.

Girish Dayalan Posted as Special Secretary, Jails

Shri Girish Dayalan, IAS (2011), who was serving as:

  • Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab
  • Managing Director, Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd.
  • Managing Director, Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (additional charge)
  • Managing Director, MARKFED (additional charge)

has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Jails.

Amit Kumar Shifted to School Education and Investment Promotion

Shri Amit Kumar, IAS (2012), who was serving as:

  • Special Secretary, School Education
  • Additional Director General, School Education
  • Additional Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion

has been posted as:

  • Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab
  • Managing Director, Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd.
  • Managing Director, MARKFED

He will replace Girish Dayalan, IAS, in these positions.

Sanyam Aggarwal Given Additional Cooperative Sector Responsibilities

Shri Sanyam Aggarwal, IAS (2012), who was serving as:

  • Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare
  • Chief Executive Officer, State Health Agency, Punjab
  • Nodal Officer, Anti-Drug Campaign

will continue in these assignments and has been given the additional charge of:

  • Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab
  • Managing Director, Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd.

These responsibilities have been assigned in place of Girish Dayalan, IAS.

Vishesh Sarangal Gets Additional Charge of MARKFED

Shri Vishesh Sarangal, IAS (2013), who was serving as:

  • Special Secretary, Good Governance & Information Technology
  • Director, Good Governance & Information Technology
  • Chief Executive Officer, Punjab State e-Governance Society

will continue in his existing assignments and has been entrusted with the additional charge of Managing Director, MARKFED, relieving Girish Dayalan, IAS of the additional responsibility.

Sakshi Sawhney Relieved of PUDA Charge

Smt. Sakshi Sawhney, IAS (2014), who was serving as:

  • Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Punjab
  • Chief Administrator, Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority (PUDA)

has been posted as:

  • Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare
  • Mission Director, National Health Mission, Punjab

She has been relieved of the additional charge of Chief Administrator, PUDA.

Preeti Yadav Given Additional Charge in Finance Department

Smt. Preeti Yadav, IAS (2014), who was serving as:

  • Special Secretary, Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training

will continue in her present assignment and has been given the additional charge of Special Secretary, Expenditure (Finance Department).

The officers concerned have been directed to assume charge of their new assignments immediately. The government has also directed the departments concerned to make internal arrangements for the disposal of work relating to posts that have fallen vacant as a result of these transfers.
