A spectacular 500-drone show at Dussehra Ground in Sector 79, Mohali, on Monday evening brought the life, Bani, philosophy and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji to the forefront as part of the Punjab Government’s year-long celebrations marking his 650th Parkash Purab.
The illuminated drones transformed the night sky into a visual presentation of the revered Guru’s life and spiritual legacy, drawing hundreds of devotees who watched the programme with devotion and enthusiasm.
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh attended the event along with District Planning Committee Chairperson Engineer Prabhjot Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, DSP Harsimran Singh Bal, Senior Deputy Mayor Rajinder Prasad Sharma and Deputy Mayor Harpal Singh Channa. A large number of devotees also participated in the celebrations.
Addressing the gathering, Kulwant Singh said the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government was committed to promoting the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji and ensuring the welfare and equality of all sections of society.
He said the use of modern digital technology through the drone show was aimed at connecting the younger generation with the life, Bani and philosophy of Guru Sahib through an engaging visual medium.
The MLA highlighted that the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji carried a universal message of equality, brotherhood, hard work, righteous conduct and social harmony. He said Guru Sahib raised his voice against caste-based discrimination, untouchability and social inequality, while advocating a society founded on moral values, human dignity and mutual respect.
Kulwant Singh emphasised that the philosophy of Guru Ravidas Ji transcended caste, community and social boundaries, offering a message of equality, freedom and the welfare of humanity.
He further said the Punjab Government had allocated more than Rs 100 crore for year-long programmes dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji. The initiatives, he added, were intended to take the Guru’s teachings to younger generations through contemporary and accessible platforms.
The spiritual atmosphere of the event was further enriched by soulful Kirtan presented by the Ragi Jatha of Bhai Jaspal Singh Ji, Hazoori Ragi of Gurdwara Amb Sahib, which enthralled the Sangat.
Tehsildar Mohali Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, Naib Tehsildar Ravinder Singh, Sub-Registrar Harsh Garg and Harmanjot Cheema were also present at the programme.
The drone show formed part of the state government’s wider initiative to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Guru Ravidas Ji and promote his message of equality, social harmony and universal brotherhood.
