Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated autobiography may be released in both Tamil and English, lyricist and writer Vairamuthu has indicated, revealing that work on the book is currently underway.
Vairamuthu, a seven-time National Award winner, shared the update after meeting Rajinikanth recently. In a post on X, he said he had called on the actor to convey his wishes ahead of the release of his upcoming film Jailer 2.
According to Vairamuthu, the two discussed art and life but did not speak about politics.
Recounting their conversation about the autobiography, Vairamuthu said he asked Rajinikanth when the book would be released. The actor reportedly replied that work was in progress and it would be out soon.
Vairamuthu said he told Rajinikanth that readers were eagerly awaiting the autobiography. When the actor asked why, the lyricist replied that many people had a history, but Rajinikanth also had charisma.
Vairamuthu subsequently indicated that Rajinikanth had hinted at the possibility of the autobiography being published initially in both Tamil and English. However, no release date or further publication details have been announced.
Meanwhile, Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 15. The action entertainer has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and its trailer has heightened anticipation among fans.
The trailer features Rajinikanth reprising his character, Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, who goes off the radar while attempting to uncover the chain of command behind his enemies. It also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vidya Balan and S. J. Suryah in prominent roles.
The film’s makers announced in April that shooting had been completed, sharing pictures from a cake-cutting celebration marking the wrap.
