Actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary recently shared her admiration for politician Lalu Prasad Yadav on the reality show Rise and Fall, recalling a famous parliamentary exchange between him and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
A clip from the show has surfaced on social media, featuring Priyanka speaking to Lalu about his speeches and humorous public appearances. She told the veteran politician that she regularly watches his videos and scrolls through his Instagram reels.
“I watch all your videos. Sometimes I search your name on Instagram and scroll all your reels. I like you a lot. You look very funny. And your talks make me laugh a lot,” she said.
Priyanka then recalled a parliamentary exchange involving Lalu and Mamata Banerjee, referring to a discussion about demands for railway-related provisions. Recounting the moment in her own words, she said the exchange highlighted Lalu’s distinctive sense of humour.
Lalu appeared on Rise and Fall in connection with his son, Tej Pratap Yadav, who is among the contestants on the show.
The reality series features 15 contestants competing over 42 days in a format centred on power, strategy, alliances and changing fortunes. Participants are divided into two groups: Rulers, who exercise control from the Tower, and Workers, who stay in the Basement and compete for opportunities to move up.
Season 2 has added an audience-participation element, allowing viewers to influence who becomes a Ruler or a Worker.
The contestants include Swara Bhasker, Karan Patel, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Shehzad Poonawalla, Gautam Gulati, Tej Pratap Yadav, Sara Gurpal and Kajal Raghwani, among others.
The show marks former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag’s streaming debut as a reality-show host. Produced by Banijay Asia, Rise and Fall is available to stream on Amazon MX Player.
