Kabir Bedi Revisits ‘Only Vimal’ Era, Recalls Becoming a Face of Changing Indian Fashion in the 1980s

Mumbai, August 12, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Veteran actor Kabir Bedi has revisited a memorable chapter of his career by sharing rare posters and photographs from his association with the “Only Vimal” brand during the 1980s.

Taking to Instagram, Bedi said the material was discovered by his wife while they were moving house. He described the collection as a “wonderful little archive” that transported him back to the era when Vimal, a Reliance brand, was becoming a prominent part of India’s evolving fashion landscape.

“My wife found these while we were moving house…. Posters and images from different chapters of my journey — a wonderful little archive of another time – the ‘Only Vimal’ years,” Bedi wrote.

Reflecting on the brand’s significance, he said Vimal was more than a clothing label at the time and that being associated with it as one of its faces had become a memorable part of his professional journey.

“Looking at these again after all these years brought back many fond memories,” he added, asking followers how many of them remembered the “Only Vimal” era.

The video shared by the actor features him modelling stylish outfits associated with the period, along with old newspaper clippings highlighting his work and his association with the brand.

Bedi has had a career spanning Indian and international cinema. His notable Indian films include Khoon Bhari Maang and Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story. He gained international recognition for playing Sandokan in the European television series Sandokan and also appeared in the James Bond film Octopussy.
