Indian shooter Shrishti Arora won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol SH1 event at the Asian Para Games 2026 on Tuesday, marking an impressive start to her debut at the continental competition.
Arora finished third in the final with a score of 214.7 points. Iran’s Faezeh Ahmadi claimed gold with 237.3 points, while compatriot Sareh Javanmardi took silver with 237.0 points. India’s other finalist, Sumedha Pathak, finished eighth with 111.4 points.
The bronze added to India’s medal tally in para shooting. Earlier on Tuesday, Manish Narwal secured silver in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 event and earned a quota place for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.
India had also enjoyed a strong showing in the women’s 10m air rifle SH1 event on Monday, with Mona Agarwal winning gold and Avani Lekhara taking silver.
Agarwal set an Asian Para Games record with a score of 250 points, while Lekhara finished with 249.6. South Korea’s Yunri Lee won bronze with 227.9 points.
Agarwal recovered from fifth place during the final to take the lead and secure the title. Her score surpassed the previous Asian Para Games record of 249.6 set by Lekhara at the previous edition in Hangzhou, although it fell short of the world record of 252 held by Slovakia’s Iryna Shchetnik.
Agarwal had already secured a quota place for the 2028 Paralympics at the World Championships, while Lekhara’s silver-medal finish in Nagoya also earned her a place.
The SH1 classification is for shooters with certain upper- or lower-limb impairments who can support their firearm independently without a shooting stand bearing its weight.
Arora’s bronze further strengthened India’s performance in para shooting at the Games.
