Actor Fardeen Khan has shared an emotional memory of his late father, veteran actor-filmmaker Feroz Khan, revealing that a dream in which his father handed him a cowboy hat prompted him to wear one of his belongings for the first time in 17 years.
Fardeen shared a photograph on social media showing himself wearing a brown cowboy hat, a matching jacket and sunglasses — a look reminiscent of his father’s distinctive style.
Recalling the experience, Fardeen said he had kept his father’s hats close to him since Feroz Khan’s death in 2009 but had never worn any of them.
“Some things we inherit. Others, perhaps, are meant to be given to us when the time is right,” he wrote.
He then described the dream that made the moment particularly meaningful.
“He came to me in a dream. And in that dream, he handed me one of his hats. This very one,” Fardeen shared.
Reflecting on the experience, the actor said an object he had possessed for years suddenly felt as though it had been given to him anew. Calling the moment special, he also invited people who interpret dreams to share their thoughts.
Feroz Khan died on April 27, 2009, aged 69, after battling lung cancer. Renowned for his flamboyant personality, screen presence and Western-inspired fashion, he made cowboy hats, sunglasses and leather outfits signature elements of his public image.
His notable films as an actor and filmmaker include Dharmatma, Qurbani, Janasheen and Yalgaar.
Feroz Khan also played a pivotal role in his son’s film career, launching Fardeen with Prem Aggan in 1998. The two later worked together on Janasheen (2003), which Feroz directed and which also featured Celina Jaitly.
