In line with the schedule issued by the National Legal Services Authority, this year’s fourth and final National Lok Adalat will be held in all the courts of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, said District & Sessions Judge, Atul Kasana, here today.
He said that compoundable criminal cases, cheque bounce cases, bank recovery cases, matrimonial disputes, MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) cases, labour-related disputes, land acquisition cases, matters related to electricity and water bills, cases pertaining to the Revenue Department, and all types of civil cases will be taken up in the National Lok Adalat as per the request of the concerned parties.
Mrs. Surabhi Prashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, has already held meetings with officials of various Central and Punjab Government departments such as the Telephone Department, Banks, Insurance Companies, Electricity Department, Water Supply and Sanitation Department, etc., and motivated the officials to dispose of pending cases in various courts through the National Lok Adalat being held on 13th December 2025.
She also informed that cases which have not yet been filed in any court (pre-litigative stage) and fall under the above categories can also be settled in the National Lok Adalat.
The Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, while explaining the benefits of National Lok Adalats, said that once a decision is pronounced in the Lok Adalat, the court fee deposited in the case is refunded. She added that the award of the Lok Adalat is final and binding on all parties, and no appeal can be filed against it, making it an effective and speedy mechanism for dispute resolution.
