Islamabad, November 8, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Gohar Ali Khan has called for judicial independence, the supremacy of the Constitution and an end to what he described as political victimisation, while reiterating the party’s preference for resolving political differences through dialogue.

Addressing reporters in Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, Gohar said no society could achieve stability and development without justice. He maintained that PTI had consistently supported an independent judiciary and constitutional rule.

He said the party remained willing to engage in democratic dialogue despite what it described as the theft of its electoral mandate and denial of its seats.

Gohar identified access to Imran Khan’s family and personal physicians as the party’s foremost demand. He alleged that court orders concerning the former Prime Minister were not being implemented, including a Supreme Court decision dated August 18.

He also raised concerns over the alleged unlawful detention of political leaders, claiming that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the Assembly Speaker had been kept in illegal custody.

The PTI chairman’s remarks came amid renewed concerns within the party over Imran Khan’s health in prison. On Thursday, the party’s core committee expressed what it described as grave concern over reports that his blood pressure had reached 192 and alleged that he was being denied access to adequate medical facilities, family members and personal doctors.

The committee urged the Chief Justice to ensure the implementation of court orders relating to his medical care. It also called on the government to arrange an immediate medical evaluation, conduct necessary diagnostic tests and allow him to meet his personal physicians.

The party further demanded that Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for a medical examination, describing the matter as an urgent humanitarian and medical concern rather than merely a political or legal dispute.

Imran Khan has been in prison since August 2023 following convictions that PTI has described as politically motivated. Since his removal from office through a no-confidence vote in 2022, he has faced multiple cases, including those concerning state gifts and an unlawful marriage.
