BJP President Nitin Nabin on Sunday visited the residence of veteran party leader and former Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani to extend birthday greetings and wish him good health and a long life as he entered his 100th year.
Nabin was accompanied by Union Minister Piyush Goyal and BJP General Secretary B.L. Santosh. The leaders met Advani and conveyed their wishes to the veteran politician.
Sharing photographs of the meeting on X, Nabin recalled Advani’s journey from the hardships of Partition to his contribution to nation-building, describing his public life as an enduring example of the principle of “Nation First”.
He said Advani’s philosophy of “Nation First, Party Next, Self Last” would continue to inspire the BJP’s organisational culture and its workers.
Earlier in the day, the BJP organised a special puja and havan at its headquarters to mark Advani’s birthday. Party leaders gathered to pay tribute to his long public life and contributions to the organisation and Indian politics.
Addressing the gathering, Nabin described Advani as an inspiration for his commitment to nation-first politics and cultural nationalism. He also recalled the veteran leader’s historic Rath Yatra, saying it gave fresh direction and momentum to the Ram Temple movement.
Nabin said the movement’s aspiration was fulfilled under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, with the Ram Temple now standing in Ayodhya.
Goyal also paid tribute to Advani, highlighting his dedication to the nation, firm convictions and commitment to the party organisation.
