New Delhi, November 7, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

BJP President Nitin Nabin has credited India’s youth for the country’s growing presence on the global stage, saying young people are making significant contributions across fields such as research, artificial intelligence and sports.

In an interview with IANS, Nabin spoke on a range of issues, including the upcoming Assembly elections in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in governance, the RSS and the BJP’s political challenges. He described young people as the country’s biggest strength and said their hard work and commitment would be crucial to achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047’.

He said that while young people were earlier primarily job seekers, more than two lakh startups reflected their growing role as job creators. Nabin also credited the Modi government with creating new opportunities for young people.

On Prime Minister Modi completing 25 years in governance, Nabin described the period as one of service, dedication and ‘tapasya’. He credited the government with bringing around 25 crore people out of poverty and said India had moved from being counted among the ‘Fragile Five’ economies to the world’s top five economies.

Referring to the RSS, Nabin said the organisation had provided the BJP with its ideological foundation and direction. He also praised former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Modi for raising India’s standing internationally.

On the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, Nabin alleged that the Congress and AAP governments had failed the state, citing drug abuse, women’s safety and deteriorating law and order. He said the BJP saw an opportunity arising from the failures of the two parties.

Regarding a possible alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal, he said a decision would be taken at the appropriate time. “Right now, we are preparing for all 117 Assembly seats in Punjab ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls,” he said.

On Uttar Pradesh, Nabin dismissed the proposed Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance as a threat, alleging that its leaders were focused on their families rather than public issues. He defended the Yogi Adityanath government’s law-and-order record and criticised Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav over his support for Azam Khan.

Nabin also made sharp allegations against Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of being used as a “toolkit” to destabilise the country. He questioned Gandhi’s approach to protests and urged him to raise issues in Parliament, saying the House provided a platform for questioning the Prime Minister and the government.

On allegations of attempts to bring about regime change through mob-driven tactics, Nabin said such efforts would not succeed, asserting that the country’s youth remained committed to development, national security and cultural values.

Commenting on reports of differences between the Congress and actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in Tamil Nadu, Nabin accused the Congress of sidelining alliance partners to retain power. He said the mandate for the TVK government belonged solely to the party.
