Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday in what officials described as a courtesy meeting.
The Prime Minister’s Office shared a photograph of the meeting on X and posted: “Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri @myogiadityanath met Prime Minister @narendramodi. @CMOfficeUP.”
The meeting came a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s role in defence production during the inauguration of the fourth Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
Shah said the manufacturing of BrahMos missiles and AK-203 assault rifles in Uttar Pradesh was giving “sleepless nights” to Pakistan and Maoists, respectively. He also said Uttar Pradesh was emerging as an engine of national growth, with investment and production expanding across the state.
Referring to the Centre’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, Shah said the central and state governments had worked together to strengthen India’s position as a global manufacturing and innovation hub.
Earlier this week, BJP national president Nitin Nabin also visited Uttar Pradesh for two days, focusing on western districts. During the visit, the party reviewed organisational preparedness at booth, Shakti Kendra, mandal and district levels and interacted with party workers.
In a post on X, Nabin said he had paid floral tributes at the Kargil Martyrs Memorial Park in Meerut and planted a tree in memory of soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the defence of the country.
