Magician Karan Singh, who was recently eliminated from the reality show “The Traitors”, has described his experience on the series as a rewarding challenge that pushed him beyond his comfort zone and allowed him to form new connections.
Speaking to IANS after his exit alongside Soundous Mouafakir, Harman Singha and Munawar Faruqui, Karan said he has always been keen to explore different forms of performance and take on unfamiliar challenges.
“For me as a performer and an artist, my thing is I always want to try new things,” he said, pointing out that although much of his work involves performing on stage and mind-reading, he has also explored stand-up comedy in a French show and appeared on “India’s Got Latent”.
He said joining “The Traitors” was another opportunity to test himself in an environment that was “way out of my comfort zone”.
Karan said the experience also introduced him to people from different backgrounds, including some he already knew and others he met for the first time. He added that the show helped him form “great connections” while allowing him to observe the distinct personalities and qualities of his fellow contestants.
Reflecting on the idea of individuality, Karan said the experience reinforced his belief that people often consider themselves unique, while sharing certain traits with others.
He said observing these similarities among contestants from different walks of life was one of the aspects of the show he particularly enjoyed.
“The Traitors” brought together 21 contestants from the worlds of entertainment, television, social media, food and other fields. The participants included Munawar Faruqui, Mallika Sherawat, Shweta Tiwari, Rhea Chakraborty, Abhishek Malhan, Shalini Passi and Ranveer Brar.
The reality series revolves around trust, deception and strategic alliances, with contestants attempting to identify the hidden Traitors while avoiding elimination themselves. The ongoing season has featured confrontations, surprise exits and changing alliances, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the competition.
