Chandigarh, November 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has searched seven premises linked to Punjab MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora, her family members and associates in connection with an alleged fraud involving compensation paid for land acquired for a National Highway project.

The searches were conducted on November 4 by the ED’s Chandigarh Zonal Office-I under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The premises included a hospital-cum-de-addiction centre associated with the Moga legislator.

According to the ED, the searches led to the recovery of documents, electronic devices and other material that allegedly indicate the acquisition of benami properties by the MLA and her associates. The agency said the material was being examined as part of its ongoing investigation.

The money laundering probe stems from an FIR registered at Dharamkot police station in Moga district against Patwari Navdeep Singh, Dilkush Kumari and others. The case concerns alleged manipulation of revenue records relating to government land in village Adhraman, resulting in the wrongful disbursement of more than Rs 1 crore as compensation for land acquired for National Highway-754A.

The ED said the compensation was credited to Dilkush Kumari’s bank account, which was subsequently frozen. Its investigation has allegedly revealed the involvement of Arora, her husband and associates in facilitating the diversion and siphoning off of the funds. Punjab Police has filed a chargesheet against Navdeep Singh, the agency added.

The ED has also alleged fraudulent acquisition and transfer of several government, municipal and charitable properties through manipulation of revenue records and execution of property documents. These include 13 marlas of Central government land on Zira Road, seven marlas of Punjab government land in Civil Lines, six marlas of Market Committee land on Railway Road and three kanals and 16 marlas of Municipal Corporation land at Moga Mehla Singh-3.

The agency has also cited 52 marlas and eight sarsahis of land belonging to the United Church of Northern India Trust Association. It alleged that these properties were acquired or transferred in favour of relatives of the MLA and other associates.

The investigation has further pointed to suspected proceeds of crime generated through the alleged property transactions and the acquisition of a residential property in Moga involving suspected unaccounted cash consideration, the ED said.
