Mumbai, November 5, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Actress Madhuri Dixit has recalled a memorable incident from the sets of her 1991 film Prahaar: The Final Attack with late actor-filmmaker Nana Patekar, revealing how he insisted that she appear on screen without makeup.

Madhuri shared the anecdote while interacting with actress Sonali Kulkarni during a Diwali special episode of the Marathi television quiz show Kon Honar Crorepati. She also said that Nana’s passing was yet to sink in.

Recalling the incident, Madhuri said Nana had clearly told her that he did not want her to wear makeup for the film. Taking his instruction literally, she arrived on the set the following day without applying any makeup.

However, when Nana asked whether she had worn makeup, Madhuri said she had not. He then asked her to show her face. She brought a makeup remover, wiped her face and demonstrated that she had followed his instruction.

“It hasn’t sunk in for me yet,” Madhuri said, reflecting on the veteran actor’s death.

Prahaar, released in 1991, marked Nana Patekar’s directorial debut. He played Major Chauhan in the action drama, which also featured Madhuri as Shirley and Dimple Kapadia.

Madhuri and Nana later shared screen space again in the 1998 film Wajood.

Nana Patekar died on October 8, 2026, at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa. He was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors attempted to revive him with CPR for around 45 minutes but could not save him.
