‘Rise and Fall Season 2’ host Virender Sehwag reprimanded contestant Shehzad Poonawalla over his use of the word ‘vamp’ for fellow contestant Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and asked him to withdraw the remark.
In a recent episode, Sehwag objected to the language, saying, “Yeh nahi allow karunga mein aapko. Aap shabd waapas lijiye, yeh shabdh nahi bol sakte aap… Kisi bhi ladki ke baare mein aap aisa shabd nahi bol sakte.”
Shehzad then referred to his earlier altercation with Siwet Tomar, during which his kurta was torn, and questioned how the situation would have been viewed if the same had happened to a woman.
Sehwag responded by reminding him of the language standards expected in the show’s Tower. He said he had repeatedly raised concerns over the use of inappropriate words and the frequent use of beeped-out language.
Actress and fellow contestant Swara Bhasker joined the exchange, saying the context would have been very different if a woman were involved. Sehwag clarified that he did not want to revisit the past.
Backed by Banijay Asia, ‘Rise and Fall Season 2’ is hosted by Virender Sehwag and streams exclusively on Prime Video, with new episodes released daily at 12 noon.
