Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has sparked fresh excitement around his upcoming collaboration with Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, teasing that “interesting updates” about their much-anticipated project, tentatively titled AA23, will be shared soon.
On Monday, the Master director took to his official Instagram handle and posted a picture of himself engaged in an intense conversation with the Pushpa star.
Building anticipation among fans, Kanagaraj captioned the photograph, “Interesting updates coming soon,” and tagged Allu Arjun.
The post comes amid speculation that AA23 may have been shelved. The director’s latest social media update has renewed interest in the project, although no further details about its status or timeline were revealed.
The collaboration between Allu Arjun and Kanagaraj was officially announced on social media in January this year. The announcement video featured a lion standing its ground as a group of foxes circled around it, attempting to assert control.
While the teaser did not reveal details about the storyline, its striking visual concept generated considerable curiosity about what the actor-director duo would bring to the screen.
The film, currently known as AA23, is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. The production house has previously backed Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is working on filmmaker Atlee’s upcoming project Raaka, which features Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as the female lead. The film marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Deepika, who previously worked with Atlee on Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
The makers officially announced Raaka on April 8 this year, coinciding with Allu Arjun’s 44th birthday, and unveiled the first-look poster featuring the actor.
