Megastar Amitabh Bachchan left the audience of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 in splits with his trademark humour after a contestant revealed that he had brought his girlfriend along to the show.
The revelation prompted the veteran actor to jokingly reflect on his own life, saying that even at the age of 84, he had never had the opportunity to make a similar confession at home.
While interacting with professional quizzer Ajay Poonia, Amitabh quipped, “84 saal ke ho gaye hain sir, ek baar bhi ghar pe ye bolne ka avsar nahi mila… ki hum apni girlfriend ko laye hain.”
The humorous exchange began as Amitabh introduced Ajay, who spoke about his profession as a quizzer. Pulling the contestant’s leg, the actor remarked that he had not known that conducting quizzes could actually be a source of income.
The conversation took a playful turn when Amitabh learnt that Ajay creates most of his own quizzes and had brought someone along to support him during his appearance on the show.
Curious about his companion, Amitabh asked Ajay who had accompanied him. The contestant replied, “Sir mere saath meri girlfriend aayi hain, Tarini.”
Ajay’s response prompted Amitabh’s witty remark about never having had the chance to tell his family that he had brought his girlfriend home, drawing laughter from the audience.
The light-hearted moment comes amid several candid conversations Amitabh has shared with contestants on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 about his personal life.
In recent episodes, the actor had spoken about his marriage to Jaya Bachchan, revealing that the two had decided to get married without elaborate planning and eventually tied the knot the very next day.
Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan got married in 1973 and have two children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda.
