Actor Suniel Shetty marked daughter Athiya Shetty’s birthday with an emotional Instagram post, recalling her childhood and saying that a part of him will always see her as the little girl he could never refuse.
The actor shared two photographs of Athiya from her childhood and accompanied them with a heartfelt message about watching her grow and build a life of her own.
“No matter how old you get, a part of me will always see that little girl I could never say no to. And now watching you build your own little world, I realise some things never change…Happy birthday my baby. Love you more than I could ever put into words,” Suniel wrote, tagging Athiya.
Athiya is the daughter of Suniel and Mana Shetty, who married in 1991. She is also the sister of actor Ahan Shetty.
Athiya made her acting debut in 2015 with Hero, a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 film of the same name. She later appeared in the romantic comedy Mubarakan (2017), alongside Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz.
Her subsequent projects included the song “Tere Naal Nachna” from Nawabzaade (2018) and the comedy-drama Motichoor Chaknachoor (2019), in which she starred opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Athiya married Indian cricketer KL Rahul in 2023 after dating for several years. The wedding was held at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala.
