MP Satnam Singh Sandhu Interacts with Industrialists, Social Activists and Religious Leaders to discuss issues and challenges in region

As part of the nationwide outreach and public engagement programmes commemorating 12 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Satnam Singh Sandhu participated in a series of religious, environmental, intellectual and industrial interaction programmes across Fatehgarh Sahib district.

The programmes formed part of the nationwide campaign being organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party to highlight the transformative journey of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 12 years. The celebrations focus on the government’s achievements in infrastructure development, economic growth, social welfare, digital transformation, national security, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, women empowerment and India’s growing stature on the global stage.

The day commenced with Satnam Singh Sandhu paying obeisance at Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup Sahib, Sirhind, one of Sikhism’s most revered shrines. He offered prayers and performed Ardaas for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the nation and its citizens.

Later, Sandhu participated in a plantation drive at Bhatti Farm, Sirhind, organised as part of the environmental conservation initiatives undertaken during the commemorative programmes. The plantation drive was hosted by BJP Fatehgarh Sahib District President and former MLA Didar Singh Bhatti. Speaking on the occasion, Sandhu stressed the importance of environmental sustainability and collective efforts to preserve natural resources for future generations. He said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, environmental protection and sustainable development have become integral components of India’s growth story.

Continuing his visit, Sandhu paid respects at Gurdwara Hansali Sahib and sought blessings from Baba Paramjeet Singh Ji. During his interaction with devotees, he highlighted the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and their relevance in promoting social harmony, compassion, selfless service and nation-building.

A key highlight of the day was an Intellectual Meet held at Rana Hospital, Sirhind, under the leadership of noted healthcare practitioner and social worker Dr. Hitendera Suri. The round-table discussion witnessed participation from professionals, academicians, healthcare experts, social leaders and intellectuals who deliberated on the transformative initiatives undertaken by the Central Government during the last 12 years.

The participants discussed several landmark achievements, including the expansion of national infrastructure through highways, airports and railway modernization; the successful implementation of Digital India; reforms in healthcare through Ayushman Bharat; promotion of entrepreneurship through Start-Up India and Stand-Up India; empowerment of farmers and women; strengthening of higher education; and welfare schemes aimed at uplifting the underprivileged sections of society.

Addressing the gathering, Satnam Singh Sandhu stated that the last 12 years have been marked by decisive leadership, good governance and people-centric development. He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has emerged as a confident, self-reliant and influential global power while ensuring inclusive development at the grassroots level.

“The vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 has inspired citizens from all walks of life to become active partners in nation-building. India’s remarkable progress in economic growth, innovation, digital governance, infrastructure development and social welfare reflects the collective aspirations of 140 crore Indians,” Sandhu said.

The final programme of the day was an Industrialists’ Meet and Intellectual Interaction at Bhawani Industry, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab’s renowned industrial hub. The interaction brought together industrialists, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from the steel and manufacturing sectors. Participants discussed industrial growth, investment opportunities, ease of doing business reforms, skill development and the government’s initiatives to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

The industrial fraternity appreciated various reforms introduced by the Modi Government, including simplification of business processes, promotion of indigenous manufacturing through the Make in India initiative, logistics improvements and policy measures aimed at boosting industrial competitiveness.

BJP Punjab State Secretary Karanveer Singh Tohra was also present during the series of programmes. He emphasized the importance of connecting with different sections of society and taking the message of development, transparency and public welfare to the grassroots level.

Also present on the occasion were Gurvinder Singh Sohi, President of NGO JAGO, Manjinder Singh, BJP State Convener of the NGO Cell, along with office-bearers of various BJP frontal organizations and local dignitaries.

The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens, professionals, social workers, religious leaders and industrial stakeholders, reflecting widespread engagement with the vision of a developed and self-reliant India as the nation celebrates twelve years of transformative governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
