President of Shiromani Akali Dal Punar Surjit, Giani Harpreet Singh, stated that complete unity among several Sikh political parties has been achieved today under a common Punjab agenda.
He informed that leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal Punar Surjit, United Akali Dal, International Panthic Akali Dal, and Begampura Khalsa Raj Party participated in today’s meeting. The meeting was held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib in Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar, Jalandhar.
Among those present were patron Ravinder Singh, Secretary General Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, President of United Akali Dal Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Buta Singh Ransinh, President of International Panthic Akali Dal Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode, and President of Begampura Khalsa Raj Party Gurinder Singh Bajwa.
After detailed discussions, all leaders agreed that if the long-pending issues of the Panth and Punjab are to be resolved, all like-minded groups must unite under a common agenda and a single flag. The leaders shared their views on strengthening Panthic unity.
Gurpartap Singh Wadala stated that today’s meeting has laid the foundation for unity and that, gradually, all groups dedicated to Sri Akal Takht Sahib will be brought together within the Panthic fold.
He further informed that party president Giani Harpreet Singh honored all party presidents and leaders with Siropaos (robes of honor). He added that all participating leaders announced their unconditional support and cooperation with Punar Surjit.
Besides the above-mentioned leaders, those present at the meeting included Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Bibi Harjit Kaur Talwandi, Kulwinder Singh Lovely, Jarnail Singh Garhdiwala, Sukhdev Singh Phagwara, Parmpal Singh Sabhra, Sukhwant Singh Rauli, Mahinderpal Singh Binaka, Amarjit Singh Kishanpura, Jaswinder Singh Jassa, Yuvraj Singh Begowal, Gurwinder Singh Jhabal, Office Secretary Jagjit Singh Kohli, Media In-charge Tajinder Singh Pannu, Sant Charanjit Singh Jassowal of International Panthic Akali Dal, and from United Akali Dal, Jatinder Singh Isru, Bahadur Singh Bharta, Rashpal Singh Chandigarh, Sarabjit Singh Dhuri, and Sarabjit Singh Allal, among others.
