In its continuous fight against the drug menace (Yudh Nashian Virudh), the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar conducted targeted operations at multiple locations across the city, resulting in the arrest of 16 individuals and the seizure of narcotics, illegal liquor, and vehicles.
Providing details, CP Jalandhar Dhanpreet Kaur said that various police stations within the Commissionerate Jalandhar jurisdiction executed these operations, leading to the successful apprehension of 15 individuals engaged in drug-related activities including 4 drug suppliers/peddlers.
This effort resulted in the registration of 8 FIRs under the NDPS Act along with the recovery of 46 grams of heroin and 61 intoxicant tablets. She further said that one car and one motorcycle were seized by the police.
In addition, the police also confiscated 36000ml of illegal liquor, which led to the registration of an FIR under the Excise Act and the arrest of one individual involved in it. Apart from this, 6 drug addicts were admitted to drug addiction centers for rehabilitation.
She firmly asserted that Jalandhar Police is going all out in its intensified city-wide crackdown to track down and apprehend individuals involved in drug trafficking, with a dedicated aim to make Jalandhar a drug-free city.
