Actor Hrithik Roshan has paid an emotional tribute to filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, director of his film ‘Kaabil’, following his reported death, recalling their time together and expressing regret that they did not get the opportunity to work on more projects.
In a heartfelt post on his official Instagram account on Saturday, Hrithik said that working on just one film with Gupta was not enough and remembered the filmmaker’s laughter, passion and enthusiasm for new ideas.
“Sanjay, I’m gonna miss you man. One film with you wasn’t enough … I will always remember our time together with so much love for you … your laughter, your passion, that child in you that lit up with every good idea, there was so much more we needed to do together man, this is way too soon,” he wrote.
The actor also expressed gratitude to Gupta for making the experience of shooting ‘Kaabil’ special, saying that the filmmaker had contributed far more to the film than people might ever know.
“I’m gonna remember you with so much gratitude my friend, I wish I had hugged you harder and thanked you for giving me the best experience of my life with Kaabil. Nobody will fully know how much you gave that film. I’m heartbroken, this was too soon. Strength to the family … Rest in peace my friend,” Hrithik added.
According to reports, Gupta fell and sustained a fatal head injury on Friday night. As his family members were asleep at the time, the filmmaker was discovered on Saturday morning.
‘Kaabil’ featured Hrithik Roshan opposite Yami Gautam, with Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy in pivotal roles. The film was backed by Rakesh Roshan under the FilmKraft Productions banner, while its soundtrack was composed by Rajesh Roshan.
The drama follows Rohan Bhatnagar, played by Hrithik, a visually impaired man who falls in love with and marries Supriya, played by Yami Gautam, who is also visually impaired. Their lives are shattered when Supriya becomes the victim of a brutal crime, prompting Rohan to seek revenge.
