Chandigarh, November 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday invited Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Haryana for a debate on his ‘vote chori’ allegations, saying he would arrange the venue himself. He challenged Gandhi to face questions from the BJP Yuva Morcha president, arguing that the issue could not be a one-sided affair.

Saini said the Congress should approach the Chief Election Commissioner if it had grievances about the electoral process. He also pointed out that the Election Commission was an independent institution and that the courts were open to those seeking legal recourse.

Interacting with the media in Chandigarh after transferring funds under government welfare schemes, Saini accused the Congress of attempting to mislead the public by raising allegations of vote theft and questioning the credibility of democracy and the Election Commission.

He said the Election Commission had prescribed a procedure for objections to voter deletions or incorrect entries. Electoral rolls had been made available in the public domain, with a month provided for filing objections through the prescribed forms, he added.

“There has been no vote theft. What the Congress is facing today is the consequence of its own actions. People are now even saying that the Congress should shut down the party,” Saini said.
