Bollywood couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a rare joint public appearance at designer Manish Malhotra’s Diwali party, offering fans a glimpse of their affection amid persistent speculation about their marriage.
The couple posed together for photographers, with Abhishek dressed in a black kurta set and Aishwarya wearing a vibrant red traditional outfit with golden detailing.
A video from the event captured the two sharing warm moments as they stood together before the cameras. Aishwarya was seen looking affectionately at her husband before resting her head on his chest, while Abhishek kept his fingers intertwined with hers.
Their appearance has drawn attention because the couple have made relatively few public appearances together in recent years, prompting repeated speculation about a possible rift. Abhishek has previously dismissed reports of a divorce as “malicious and incorrect”.
Their daughter Aaradhya was not seen accompanying them at the event. She has often been by Aishwarya’s side during public appearances.
Abhishek and Aishwarya first met professionally during a photoshoot for Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke in 1999 and later worked together in Kuch Naa Kaho. Their friendship developed into a relationship while they were working on Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2. Abhishek has previously said their relationship became serious during the making of Umrao Jaan.
They also starred together in Mani Ratnam’s Guru (2007), during the promotion of which Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya on a hotel balcony in New York. The couple married in a private ceremony in Mumbai on April 20, 2007. Their daughter Aaradhya was born on November 16, 2011.
