Former Australian cricketer David Warner, known for his fondness for Indian cinema, was amused after an AI-generated video depicted him dancing to ‘Ala Bolelo’, a song from the upcoming Tamil film ‘Jailer 2’.
Sharing the clip on Instagram, Warner asked his followers to rate his dance “technique” out of 10, joking that his Bollywood avatar appeared to have some moves.
“Righto Who made this?? I have no idea what song this is or what dance I’m doing but apparently Bollywood Dave has some moves. Rate the technique out of 10,” Warner wrote. He also asked the person who had sent him the clip to identify themselves in the comments.
‘Jailer 2’ is an upcoming Tamil-language action comedy written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster ‘Jailer’ and features Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik reprising their roles.
The sequel also stars S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, 2026.
The original ‘Jailer’, released on August 10, 2023, featured Rajinikanth as a retired jailer who sets out to stop an eccentric idol smuggler threatening his family. Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa were part of the supporting cast, while Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff made guest appearances.
The film received positive reviews and emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023, the sixth-highest-grossing Indian film of the year and, at the time, the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
Warner, a left-handed opening batter, represented Australia across formats and captained the side in ODIs and T20Is. He was the first Australian cricketer in 132 years to be selected for the national team in any format without having first-class experience.
Before his suspension, Warner also served as Australia’s vice-captain across formats. At domestic level, he represented New South Wales.
