New Delhi, November 4, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

India’s ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu has qualified for the BWF World Tour Finals, the Badminton World Federation confirmed on Wednesday. The season-ending tournament will be held in Hangzhou, China, from December 9 to 13.

Sindhu will make her sixth career appearance at the event and her first since 2021. She had qualified in 2022 but withdrew due to injury. She remains the only Indian to win the women’s singles title, having defeated Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in the 2018 final.

The 2019 world champion’s recent Hylo Open triumph played a key role in securing qualification. The Super 500 title earned her 9,200 points and lifted her two places to sixth in the latest BWF World Rankings.

Sindhu also won the Japan Open Super 750 in July, making this her first season since 2022 with multiple BWF World Tour titles. She has now won seven World Tour titles overall. She had also reached the French Open final before the Hylo Open but lost to world No. 1 An Se-young of South Korea.

Other leading players to qualify include An Se-young, Akane Yamaguchi, Wang Zhi Yi and Chen Yu Fei. The tournament features the top eight players or pairs in the year-end rankings, with the remaining qualification spots still being contested.

Sindhu has opted to skip the Korea Open and Japan Masters following her Hylo Open victory to rest and regain fitness ahead of the season-ending tournament.
