Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has described Sooraj R. Barjatya’s upcoming musical family entertainer Yeh Prem Mol Liya as a film for “Bharat”, saying its traditional values and musical appeal reflect the cultural identity associated with Barjatya’s cinema.
Speaking at the film’s music launch on Sunday, Ayushmann praised composer Himesh Reshammiya for his ability to understand emotions and connect with a mass audience. Reshammiya also took the stage for a live performance during the event.
Ayushmann recalled his first narration meeting with Barjatya and said he was initially curious about the film’s unusual title. He said his doubts disappeared when the director played the title track.
He said the title was unique and that the film would reach “Bharat” because of the collaboration between Barjatya and Reshammiya.
Sharvari also praised Reshammiya’s music, saying she had grown up listening to his melodies and continues to listen to them. She said the warmth in his music and the lyrics helped her connect more deeply with her character.
“I have always been able to get deeper into a character by listening to the lyrics,” Sharvari said, thanking the composer for the opportunity to perform to his music.
Yeh Prem Mol Liya marks Reshammiya’s reunion with Barjatya after a decade. The two previously collaborated on Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
The film has been presented as a Himesh Reshammiya musical, with music playing an important role in its storytelling. Reshammiya has reportedly composed seven songs for the project.
The film brings together Ayushmann and Sharvari as a fresh pairing, with the actors sharing screen space for the first time.
Directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya, Yeh Prem Mol Liya is produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 27, 2026.
