Innocent Hearts celebrates Raksha Bandhan, the symbol of unbreakable bond between siblings

Jalandhar, August 17, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

All five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt.- Jandiala Road, and Kapurthala Road) joyfully celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with various activities. Under the ‘Thread of Love’ initiative, students from Pre-Nursery to KG II participated in a Rakhi-making activity.

The children brought materials from home such as sacred threads, ribbons, silk threads, beads, and stars and with the help of their teachers, made their own Rakhis in the classroom along with their friends.

Students of Grade 1 took part in a Rakhi card-making activity, while Grade 2 students engaged in a bracelet-making activity. Grade 3 students participated in a ‘Letter to Soldiers’ activity, where they wrote letters of respect to the soldiers of the nation and made Rakhis for them. Grade 4 students expressed their feelings for their siblings on paper.

Grades 6 and 7 students took part in a thali (plate) decoration activity, where they beautifully decorated thalis and the Rakhis made by the girls were greatly appreciated by everyone. The enthusiasm of the children during these activities was truly a sight to behold.

In all classes, the teachers explained to the students that Raksha Bandhan is a festival of the unbreakable love and trust between siblings.

On this day, sisters tie Rakhi on their brother’s wrist, praying for their long life and prosperity, while brothers vow to protect their sisters from all difficulties. The teachers conveyed the significance of the festival and encouraged the students to celebrate every festival with great enthusiasm.
