Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan honored Chandigarh hockey players with cash prizes during the Olympic Day and Felicitation Ceremony. These players had represented Indian hockey teams in international tournaments and brought laurels to the city and Hockey Chandigarh.
Mr. Sandhwan announced a grant of Rupees five lakh to Hockey Chandigarh, an affiliated unit of Hockey India, acknowledging the players’ outstanding performance that illuminated the city’s name on various international platforms.
The ceremony, held annually by Hockey Chandigarh, includes an exhibition match this year, aligning with global celebrations under FIH guidelines. The event recognizes players with cash awards for their exceptional performance.
