Ayodhya, October 4, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Ahead of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s scheduled visit to Ayodhya on October 8, local religious leaders have urged him to visit the Ram Temple and seek the blessings of Lord Ram.
Jagatguru Paramhans Acharya, Peethadhishwar of Tapasvi Chhawni, welcomed Yadav’s proposed visit and expressed hope that the SP chief would offer prayers at the temple during his stay in the holy city.
Referring to Yadav’s recent social media post about an alleged financial irregularity, Paramhans Acharya claimed that the SP leader had said he learnt about the matter from Lord Ram. He said Yadav should therefore visit the temple and seek the deity’s blessings, adding that failing to do so would send a message of disrespect towards Sanatan Dharma.
Devesh Acharya, a priest at Hanumangarhi, also welcomed Yadav’s visit and urged him to visit the Ram Temple with his family.

Describing the visit as positive, Devesh Acharya said Yadav should seek Lord Ram’s blessings, particularly as he is travelling to Ayodhya to attend a religious programme. He also called on the SP chief to apologise for what he described as his delayed visit to the temple, warning that returning without offering prayers would be unfortunate for Yadav and his party.
Yadav is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on October 8 to attend the concluding session of a week-long Shrimad Bhagwat Katha organised by former MLA and SP leader Tej Narayan Pandey, popularly known as Pawan Pandey.
The SP chief is expected to spend around an hour at the religious gathering in Krishnaapur-Khanpur Rasoolabad, where he is also likely to offer prayers and interact with devotees.
The visit comes as political activity begins to intensify ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The Samajwadi Party has already announced Tej Narayan Pandey as its candidate from the Ayodhya Assembly constituency for the upcoming polls.
