Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will begin a four-day visit to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep on Saturday, during which he will attend programmes focused on education, industry-academia cooperation and cultural heritage.
According to an official statement, Radhakrishnan will visit Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on August 29. In Erode, he will attend the Founder’s Day celebrations of the Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust (KVITT).
He will later travel to Bengaluru to attend the centenary celebrations of former Karnataka Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde at Vidhana Soudha as the chief guest.
On August 30, the Vice President will travel to Kerala, beginning his engagements in Alappuzha with the 115th anniversary celebrations of Kerala Kaumudi at Leo XIII Higher Secondary School.
He will then proceed to Pathanamthitta to inaugurate the Aranmula Water Festival 2026 before travelling to Thiruvananthapuram to inaugurate the Onam Pageantry, part of the celebrations of Kerala’s major cultural festival.
On August 31, Radhakrishnan will visit Agatti in Lakshadweep, where he will attend an outreach programme organised by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying as chief guest.
After returning to Kerala, he will attend the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology (RSET) and the Confluence 3.0 Industry-Academia Summit at the RSET Auditorium in Kakkanad, Kochi.
Earlier on Friday, Radhakrishnan extended greetings on World Sanskrit Day, describing Sanskrit as the “timeless language of India’s knowledge, philosophy, and civilisation”.
In a post on X, he called for collective efforts to preserve, promote and propagate the ancient language, saying it connects future generations with India’s enduring tradition of wisdom.
World Sanskrit Day is observed to highlight Sanskrit’s contribution to literature, philosophy, science, spirituality and India’s wider intellectual heritage, while encouraging its study and preservation among younger generations.
