Union Ministers on Saturday extended Teachers’ Day greetings, lauding educators for shaping young minds, nurturing values and playing a vital role in nation-building.
Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi congratulated the 82 teachers selected for the National Teachers’ Awards and praised their dedication, innovation and contribution to education.
“Teachers do more than impart knowledge; they shape the future,” Joshi said in a post on X. He expressed gratitude to educators who go beyond classroom teaching to empower the next generation and strengthen the foundation of a Viksit Bharat.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his greetings to teachers, describing their contribution to India’s progress as invaluable. He paid tribute to former President, philosopher and statesman Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary, whose legacy, he said, continues to inspire efforts towards building a knowledge-rich India.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said teachers occupy a position of immense respect in Indian society and play a crucial role in developing students’ intellect, values and wisdom.
Paying homage to Dr. Radhakrishnan, Singh described him as a distinguished teacher, philosopher and thinker. He said educators inspire students to become responsible citizens and expressed gratitude for their contribution to society and the nation.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also expressed his “heartfelt gratitude and deepest respect” for teachers, highlighting their wisdom, dedication and patience in shaping young minds and influencing lives beyond classrooms.
Puri also paid tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan, an eminent philosopher, academician and statesman who served as India’s second President. His birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day in the country.
The ministers’ messages highlighted the central role of teachers in education, character-building and preparing future generations to contribute to India’s development.
