Jammu and Kashmir Police have put up posters of four wanted terrorists at public locations in Srinagar, appealing to people to share credible information about their movements and presence in return for a reward.
The four individuals named in the posters are Bilal Ahmad Mir of Sopore, Abid Qayoom Lone of Baramulla, Mohammad Lateef Bhat of Kulgam and Mohammad Umar Mir of Sopore.
Carrying photographs of the wanted men, the notices assure informants that their identities will be kept strictly confidential. They also promise a “handsome reward” for reliable information that could help security agencies trace the suspects.
The police appeal urges anyone with information about the quartet’s whereabouts or movements to come forward through confidential channels.
Wanted posters and public reward announcements are among the methods used by security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir to seek public assistance in locating suspected terrorists and gathering intelligence about their networks.
Such notices generally carry photographs and identifying details to help people recognise those being sought. Police have also used posters in different parts of the Valley to appeal for information about individuals associated with terror outfits.
The latest appeal comes amid continuing counter-terrorism efforts in the region. Police have reiterated the assurance of confidentiality for those providing credible information.
