Singer-songwriter and actor Guru Randhawa has released his new Punjabi romantic single ‘2 Eyes’, featuring actor Nikita Dutta. The soulful track explores the idea that physical sight can never fully capture the depth of love or the beauty of another person.
Describing the song, Guru said it marks a return to the narrative-driven and emotional storytelling associated with some of his earlier tracks, including ‘Ban Ja Rani’ and ‘Moon Rise’.
“The song is about how our physical eyes can never truly capture the full depth of love or a person’s beauty. We rely so heavily on sight, but true love is felt in the soul,” Guru said.
He added that the song reflects the limitations of physical vision when emotions go beyond what can be seen.
“Two eyes simply aren’t enough to absorb their entire existence. It’s an acknowledgment of that beautiful frustration where love is so nuanced it completely transcends the physical world,” he said.
The music video follows Guru as he plays cricket before a stray shot leads to a chance meeting with a woman played by Nikita Dutta. He then imagines a romantic relationship with her, picturing himself as her ideal partner.
The fantasy takes an emotional turn when he discovers that the woman he has fallen for is visually impaired, reinforcing the song’s central message that love and beauty extend beyond physical perception.
Dutta said she immediately felt the song was special when she first heard it.
“The song bridges a dreamlike romance with a deeply moving narrative. Filming it was a fantastic experience because we captured this effortless, relaxed chemistry in the beginning, which makes the emotional payoff at the end resonate deeply,” she said.
She also praised Guru’s approach to the song, describing his vision as poetic and expressing confidence that audiences would connect with the warmth and emotional depth of the project.
‘2 Eyes’ is now available on major streaming platforms.
